FemSport 2006 – “North America’s Premier Fitness Strength and Physique Competition” – presented by Body Energy Club, is a full day of non-stop action with female competitors going head-to-head as they challenge their athletic abilities in various events. FemSport will take place on August 26 in Vancouver, BC. Host to this year’s show is Robson Square, an outdoor venue located in the heart of downtown Vancouver. The new, outdoor location will provide an opportunity for thousands of people to drop by and watch the event.

FemSport includes a physique portion and a strength portion with cash prizes and merchandise awarded to the winners. The strength portion consists of EZ-bar curls using 1/3 bodyweight to maximum reps within 60 seconds, a kettlebell lift, an obstacle course and an optional tug-of-war.

The physique portion of FemSport is not a traditional physique competition with competitors required to diet down to low body fat levels; rather, competitors are encouraged to come in looking lean and healthy, but not ripped.

Competitors can enter the strength portion only, the physique portion only, or both portions and compete for the overall title.

Previous show winners include Mindi O’Brien, Trina Gillis, Shanae Tomasevich and last year’s champion, Roseanne Blackburn.

FemSport welcomes all athletes, both pro and amateur, to compete in this event. Past competitors have come from a variety of sports including bodybuilding, fitness and figure, Olympic lifting, martial arts, figure skating, track and field, boxing and more.
