Editorial by Juan Carlos Lopez

After another excellent edition of the Emerald Cup its almost time for Nationals. Being at the Emerald Cup was as always a great experience despite the snow. It was very cold but nevertheless it was worth going out there. The Craigs again did a great job as they were able to organize another succesful event. The expo was much bigger even when fitness and bodybuilding was smaller so attendance was great. Figure as always is pumping new faces on stage and seems to be the largest attraction of this show.

Logic vs Emotions

This topic is something that most people will find amusing to read specially husbands, boyfriends and business men in the fitness industry. Any competitor male or female that is dieting and on almost no carbs will be slower mentally. Women usually have more emotions when it comes to dieting down, some men do as well as funny as it sounds. It is important that when dieting down for a show or photoshoot competitors try to be as logical as possible on their decisions. Give everything a long thought before you do anything rather than acting on impulse. Backstage can be a huge testing point as there isn't a lot of space and things get stolen or used by another competitor. There are hundreds of stories I have heard about being carb depleted and making erroneous decisions. Don't get me wrong there are women that don't get like this at shows at all and I can name many as a matter of fact. But in general always give things a second thought and put yourself in the other person's shoes.
