Brenda Armstrong CBBF Figure How did you get interested in bodybuilding/working
            out?
I am lucky to have a very athletic family. My older sister and brother
both make working out a daily part of their lives, so I picked it
up from them. My sister showed me the benefits of women and weight
training at the age of 16 by giving me my very first bodybuilding
magazine. I've been hooked ever since!

What was your first show like, any interesting experiences?

My first show was only this past fall Nov 2004. It was the most remember
able day of my life thus far. I will never forget the feeling. Throughout
my prep I learned more about myself than I ever dreamt possible. Not
only did I realize I love to be on stage and that I love to compete.
I met many great friends in the process. But the most interesting
experience for me was meeting my boyfriend in the pump-up room! We're
currently preparing for our next show together and it's awesome!

What do you like and dislike about competing?

Competing is like the icing on the cake, the reward for a job well
done. Standing there, being proud, knowing that you've done your homework,
and you've achieved your goal. I love competing because I love the
sport. I love to train, and the day I lifted my 1st dumbbell I knew
I would compete. It's been a gut feeling for me.

What I dislike has to be the sacrifice of time with family and friends
and the mood swings that sometimes are associated with the dieting.

What are your future goals in this industry?

Short terms goals right now are my current prep for a Fitness Model
Competition/Figure Competition for April 30th, then May 14th I am
competing in another Figure Competition where I hope to qualify for
the Provincials in June. I am also working towards building up my
portfolio and launching my website. My long term goal is to work my
way up through the rankings to earn my pro card in the figure division
and to have established myself as successful Fitness Model.

What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?

 Living, Loving, Laughing and Training!

Any additional notes? People you would like to thank?

I'd like to thank my family and friends for their unconditional love
and support. As well as my coach (and friend) and his wife, Bob and
Cindy Hopper for their guidance and support. And I want to thank my
boyfriend, Matt, my special man with you by my side, life is that
much sweeter! Thank you for your support and your love!
