Editorial by Juan Carlos Lopez The Olympia is coming, most of the National level shows are done by now. What does the industry look like? Many more shows and surely more men's physique and bikini. These categories get flooded with tons of competitors who come and go. Much less time in the industry, seems like a more volatile type of personality. Figure, Fitness Women's Physique and Men's Bodybuilding seems to be ageless, they are competing for years to come and look at it differently, are about patience. Bikini and Men's Physique seems like they want to win even on their first show. Totally different personalities that would sound better in a beauty pageant. Bikini girls are gorgeous and sexy, something not found often in the bodybuilding shows but it also creates a gap in between the other categories. You have men in men's physique getting make up done and never training legs having unsymmetrical bodies like never before yet they think they look good. For sure this industry isn't headed the right direction, its getting too commercial while the money is good the quality is low. JC |
