How did you get interested in bodybuilding/working out?

I was trained in classical ballet since the age of 3 and basically lived in a dance studio until I was 12 years old. At age 7, I would tag-along with my mom to her Jazzercise classes in my little ballet leotard, tights, and legwarmers. Even as a kid I was a complete "ham." LOL. I started watching all of the fitness shows, such as, Kiana Tom, Cory Everson, BodyShaping, and Denise Austin at age 12, and fell in love with the concept of fitness and wanted to look like the trimmed, toned bodies on television. I begged my dad to buy me one of those SoloFlex machines, that were really popular back in the day, and of course...I got it! LOL I would also save up my allowance and every week to buy a new workout tape and a heavier set of hand weights. Before I knew it, I developed my own little gym in my bedroom. I was a pretty lucky kid; I even had a treadmill and Stairclimber. Everyday throughout junior high and high School, I came home, watched my pretaped exercise shows, and worked out. I even remembering my dad knocking on my door in the middle of the night telling me "the treadmill was too loud, stop working out, and go to bed!" Even as a teenager, fitness was an obsession. At that point, I knew I was destined to have a career and lifestyle with health and fitness. Throughout high school I danced on the school's dance team, where I was also a captain and choreographer for all of our routines. I left for college where I continued to dance on the University's Dance Team, started teaching aerobics, and personal training. During my 4 years of college, I realized I wanted to compete and be a part of the fitness world like those I saw in Oxygen Magazine. By the end of my college career, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology and decided to leave my home-state of Wisconsin and head to South Florida.

What do you like and dislike about competing?

What I like about competing is seeing the transformation I can make my body undergo in a matter of a few months. I have always tried to enjoy the journey during contest preparation. The ultimate satisfaction is Competition Day and the exhuberating feeling I get while standing on that stage with the stage lights radiating down on me....did I mention that I was a "Real Ham?" LOL What I dislike about competing is how much it messes with your mind and your true perception of yourself. For my last competition in November 2006, I lost 25 pounds, but when I looked at myself in the mirror, I still thought of myself as being 25 pounds heavier. Talk about having body dysmorphia!!!

What are your future goals in this industry?

My future goals in this industry would definitley be to earn my ProCard and compete at the Pro level. I would also like to establish my name as a "Fitness Model" and work with supplement companies and workout wear/gear companies. I am also looking to expand the arena of modeling into more glamour as well; like opportunities with Maxim, FHM, Stuff Magazines.

What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?

Definitely being a mother/wife and raising an amazing family. Being at the top of the fiitness/health industry. And of course...still competing...LOL! I want to be one of those "SUPER MOMS": have like 3 kids, possess a great marriage, training and teaching several clients and classes, respectively, during the day, still compete, still be a Domestic Goddess....all while still looking like a KnockOut!!! LOL

Please tell us something special about you that most people wouldn't know?

I'm a total Domestic Goddess...I like to cook, bake, clean, etc. but there is a little Street Racer in me at the same time.
