Amy Peters NPC Figure

How did you get interested in bodybuilding/working out?

When I was growing up, my parents took me to the gym everyday after school. I've enjoyed working out since I was a little girl doing Jazzercise with my Mom!

How was your first show like, any interesting experiences?

I had a great experience at my first contest. I was extremely nervous! I had about 20 friends and family in the audience cheering me on. They really helped calm my nerves, by screaming my name and competitor #.

What do you like and dislike about competing?

I love the challenge, and sense of accomplishment I get from competing. I really enjoy every aspect of contest prep. I am still very nervous about getting onstage, despite how many times I compete. So I would say that one of things I am consistently working on is my stage presence, trying to get over my stage fright. But the part of competing I hate the most is the gossip that goes on in this industry!

What are your future goals in this industry?

Well like everyone says I want my pro card! But, if I don't get it, then I'll be ok. I think its taken me a year to be able to say that! That has always been my ultimate goal since I started competing. And if I ever won my pro card it would be a dream come true. However, just competing, both locally and on the national stage is a huge accomplishment for me, considering that I always said I could or never would get on any stage because of my intense fear of stage fright.

What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?

Having a family.

Please tell us something special about you that most people wouldn't know?

I HATE scary movies!

Any additional notes? People you would like to thank?

I would love to thank my very supportive Husband, Family and Friends: Sheron, Tiffany, Bobby, Mike. And I'd also like to thank my posing coach, Mike McDaniel!
