2007 Sacramento Pro and Steel Rose Figure Classic IX Review by Juan Carlos Lopez

Tonie Norman

Firing off the first women's pro bodybuilding show of the year the ex-San Francisco show now went up to Sacramento to the Crest Theater. 2004 was in Alameda, 2005 in San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts, 2006 in Hayward in Chabot College and now hopefully it has found a stable home. Must admit Palace of Fine Arts was the best.

Given last year's Nationals in Miami it appeared to boost a new confidence in the female bodybuilders. And then Female bodybuilding's Pro Sanction was free according to some sources so that leaves a ample margin for more FBB pro shows.

Heather Policky

Broken down in two weight classes the lightweights and heavyweights bolted down only two spots to classify to the Olympia, but most women wanted this changed. Cathy LeFrancois looked very good given her symmetry and conditioning but judges seemed to have preferred Tonie Norman who was smaller and better conditioned. Vicki Nixon took a fair third as she seemed to have more size on her. Must have had a productive off-season and didn't loose much muscle in her prep, good job for her. Gayle Moher who presented a similar package as her last show was probably deemed to small to place better.

Heavyweights was easy, very clear that Heather Policky would win. Not as tight since she was competed at the Arnold the week after she still looked amazing. Her symmetry is excellent and just packs a lot of muscle. Kim Perez was right up there, Kim has virtually no waist which makes her back look large. Just unreal genetics can make her and Tonie Norman elite athletes. Brenda Raganot took third over a bigger and well conditioned Mah-Ann Mendoza. Notable was Irene Andersen's massive size and she looks that she could do better but its a matter of time to get her name out there.

Kelly Green

The NPC Figure was very small and basically the open division was very small. Tracy Hull took class A, Jennifer Lowe B, Kelly Green C and the overall and a very tall Laurie Mahoney took D. Kelly Green presents a very tight and good shaped physique just winning over Lucinda Witte. Bridgette Ashley in class C presented much potential as well.

Hopefully this show will stay around Sacramento as it is a great venue or the Palace of Fine Arts where it seemed to have a larger crowd.
